Anahis Jester Generalities Name: Anahis Jester AKA: Angry Farmer Age: 21 Gender: Male Race: Human Faction: Independent Squad: None Role: Grappler/Slasher Battle Theme: The loop that plays during combat: soundcloud.com/fabio-pinheiro-4/ummet-ozcan-xanadu-mongolian-techno-cutFull, remixed song: soundcloud.com/dirpix/xanaduNon-remixed: soundcloud.com/dennis-bj-rk-6/ummet-ozcan-xanadu-mongolian-technooRank: D Red Orbs: 1000 Blue Orbs: 200 Character Description Physical Appearance(s): Anahis’s shape appears that of a well-built farmer boy, with more appropriate apparel to a demon apocalypse. To reiterate, Anahis has a slim body shape, but with decently well-built muscle and definition. His most common apparel is that of a leather trench coat with a built-in hood, and a white undershirt equipped along with it. His legwear consists of padded dark gray pants, to allow himself mobility. Anahis’s shoes are more formal, contrast to his attire. His face is clean, and shaven, along with two blue eyes, with a more narrow face shape. Anahis is white, with black, unkempt hair. He is always seen with a straw sun hat. Personality: A disciplined, yet talkative nature, along with a country attitude that swaps on a dime the moment a situation shows up. Cocky, and loud, like the usual demon slayer, but shuts up the absolute moment it is needed, or when great focus is required, more resorting to quiet taunts for style. Backstory Backstory Anahis belonged to the Jester family, a family of rural farmers that had made their entire living off of farming off the land in America. Unfortunately, demonic presence doesn’t mesh too well with crops. Turns out, the family farm was unfortunately placed just above a secretive cult organization, specialized in summoning demons, right underneath the ground. Anahis’s first contact with a demon was an unpleasant one. While the mom and pop dashed town and decided to live someplace else with less demonic activity, Anahis, at the age of 14, picked up a long scythe, and managed to fend off a single demon… before running off after nearly getting overwhelmed by just three. Thankfully, the demons were distracted by feasting off livestock. For four years afterwards, Anahis trained an unorthodox method of fighting; Fighting with a sword breaker and sickle, as well as a larger scythe for grappling. At the fresh age of 18, Anahis Jester returned to his previously-abandoned and now very overrun farm. From there, he had dispatched the demons from the barn, and claimed it as his own again, clearing out the demonic hidey-hole the cult made underneath the barn as well, just in case. From then on, Anahis trained, and honed his unique farmer-born fighting style specifically to grapple, and slay demons and foes alike. At the age of 20, he had commissioned a specialized weapon. A farmer’s scythe specialized for battle, which can split at the head and handle to become a curved sickle, the handle becoming a grooved-edge sword breaker, used to catch the claws of demons. He named the weapon, “Harvest’s Hands”. During this time, Anahis had been exposed to massive amounts of demonic energy, along with generally being in the presence of constant demon-related attacks. His soul was changing, adapting to the magic to produce his own, yet as of the current year, he does not know or understand of the change occurring yet. Now, at the age of 21, after his years of training, Anahis carries on the Jester’s farming name, dedicating his life to reaping the demons in exchange for cash and food. ‘Tis an honest living. Traits Trait #1 Another Hard Day’s Worth of Work (Inhuman Stamina)Due to the exhaustion and general farm work from a young age, and now demon-slaying experience at his more recent age, his stamina had been trained to supernatural levels. This has arrived out of necessity to always be on the move, to find the next demon to hunt, and to reap the next crop. It has also arrived from the natural Jester bloodline. Trait #2 Farm Boy’s Payoff (Inhuman Strength)Due to early encounters with demons, and rigorous barnyard training, Anahis’s strength has become something on-par with the demons he must constantly fight to survive. The strength had also arrived from the adaptability required throughout most of His life. Equipment Name: Harvest’s Hands Description: A combat-oriented Scythe capable of both slashing and grappling, as well as the capability to split into a sword breaker and a sickle. The scythe itself begins at the handle, decorated with intricate reaching hands, as well as different kinds of crops, primarily wheat crops and corn. As the handle goes up, much more popped-out hands "hold" the top of the scythe, where the blade is. Directly opposite to the blade is a serrated, gripping edge, where the sword breaker portion can pop out. The whole thing is an ebony, oil-like black, and the blade itself is a steel-like dark metal. Upgrade Points: 1 Upgrades: (Shapeshifting Trait-like Upgrade) Capability to split into a separate, two weapons via slight transmutation magic, courtesy of who he commissioned. The sickle has a single hilt, with a hand that reaches onto the bottom part of the sickle, similarly colored to the scythe. The sword breaker is a dagger not meant for slicing or offence, but rather to grip opposing blades (or talons (or claws (demons))), and allow Anahis to slice at a supposedly open opponent. Crop-like symbols, such as the familiar corn and wheat, decorate the ornate edge of the blade, with a wrapped leather grip. Combat Foci Name: Harvester Description: Using either a scythe or a sickle, the user is more oriented towards controlling the opponent to a favorable point, or to grab, and promptly eliminate targets quickly. This method of Foci includes using primarily the two weapons mentioned above to either slash from a distance, or to force an opponent to get up close and face a brutal hand-to-hand beat down. For example, Anahis may use his scythe to hook someone by the waist, and pull the person in to kick the opponent in the gut, or slash the throat of a flying demon by swinging his scythe in a wide, yet much more controlled fashion. Or splitting Harvest’s hand, and using the sickle and sword breaker to catch a demon claw, leading up to a sickle catching the demon by the neck to throw the creature onto the ground for a more personal stomping. Rank: D Aspects: 0 Name: Country Style Description: Should Anahis be left without a weapon, this Foci is automatically switched to. This style uses a much more dirty, brutal fighting style, resorting still to grappling, but dirty strikes, such as below the belt hits, kicking up sand, repeated blows to the stomach to wind, or elbows to the jaw. Works with any gauntlet or heavy shoe weapon. This style relies more on Farm Boy’s Payoff, utilizing grapples to also try to put the opponent in a compromising position, such as on the floor for a curb stomp. Rank: D Aspects: 0 Techniques Name: Where're you going?Description: Anahis wraps the sharp end of the scythe behind an opponent’s waist, or neck, and pulls the opponent towards him. If this succeeds, he follows it up with a kick to the stomach, and a deep slash across the chest, or whichever body part is most available. More effective if the opponent is attempting to either escape, or backing away. Focus: Harvester Aspects: 0

Hey skeletonscannotcry, thank you for applying. Let's begin the review process! At the very beginning of the Character App you left the title as "Character Name". You should be able to edit it into Anahis' name. Do ask if you're confused on how to do so. One thing I gather from his backstory is that his family has been encountering demons somewhat often. While this is not impossible, I want to stress that in our site's setting having an encounter with demons is extremely rare and Devil Hunters are very special and unique individuals just for having any experience of that reality. The general populace, by and large, does not know about demons and the general belief is that demons are urban myths. Anyways, that doesn't mean Anahis' family couldn't have been particularly unlucky. Sometimes it just be like that. The backstory is fine as it is, I just wanted to make the context clear. Your Red Orbs entry should report the total amount of Red Orbs for the character; so even if you spent some, it'll still be 1000. Keeping track of spending is something staff does on their end (with a little help from members). Same goes for Blue Orbs, which should be 200 since you have bought a weapon. Regarding the weapon, Harvest’s Hands, you have bought one Upgrade Point and I assume your intention was to spend it on giving the weapon the ability to split into two. You should add a flag or a label, something like "(Shapeshifting Trait-like Upgrade)" in the "Upgrades" entry. In the future, if you buy more Upgrades, you'll be able to add more stuff to the Upgrades entry and so these flags will be extremely important to differentiate each Upgrade. Moreover, out of all the descriptions in the app, Harvest’s Hands is a little lacking. There's not a lot of detail about, for example, the appearance of each weapon, their sizes and proportions, what they're made of, stuff like that. Since it seems to me that the "main" form is the scythe and the sword-breaker + sickle is the alternate form, I'd ask you to use the "Description" entry to describe more in detail the appearance and function of the scythe while in the "Upgrades" entry you can describe the sword-breaker + sickle combo a bit more. Do reply here and/or post in Notify Staff on the Discord when all these changes have been implemented.
