A Crafted Arm is any object used by Characters that has been created through technological and/or magical means. This may include: swords, armor, guns, vehicles, tools, and more.
Capable engineers from all around the world work tirelessly, often financed by powerful Factions, to improve the state of the art in Crafted Arms especially when it comes to aiding Devil Hunters in their jobs. With the advent of magic, the possibilities have become effectively endless and technology has breached the ceiling of what was thought possible.
While human technology has progressed far and wide, the natural affinity of demons for magic has allowed them to sidestep much of the hard work that humans had to go through to reach their technological achievements. Crafted Arms, in fact, also include objects created by demons using their own technology and magic. Understandably enough, demonic Crafted Arms often lean into the more magical aspects of reality than their human counterparts.
Among the most important categories of Crafted Arms for Devil Hunters and demons alike we find, of course, weapons and armour. While swords and other melee weapons have fallen out of fashion in the last 500 years, after the demon invasion they have quickly gained popularity as regular ranged weaponry proved to be only partially effective to hunt demons. Nowadays, ranged weapons and melee weapons are used almost exactly with the same frequency among Devil Hunters. Protection, such as armors and shields, are also quite used. By far the most used type of Crafted Arms outside of combat are the ones that provide utility, such as vehicles, computers and phones.
Crafted Arms have an independent progression from the Characters that own them. Crafted Arm progression is measured by Upgrade Points. By spending Red or Blue Orbs, you can increase the number of Upgrade Points of a Crafted Arm.
You may spend these Upgrade Points to buy Upgrades for the Crafted Arm. These Upgrades come in two flavours: Trait-like and Aspect-like.
Trait-like Upgrades give the Arm some extra quality that is similar to a Trait; in particular, this means that the Arm gains some passive advantage that sets it apart from similar objects. Traits can only provide purely physical advantages, even if the source is magical. They cost 1 Upgrade Point.
Aspect-like Upgrades give the Arm some extra quality that is similar to an Aspect; this means that the Arm gains some qualities from which Techniques may be developed. Aspects offer much more freedom than Traits, as they can offer all kinds of advantages and generate all kinds of effects. They cost 2 Upgrade Points.
When applying for a Crafted Arm or for any upgrade to an existing Crafted Arm, you must use the template found in this section. The Divinity Statue is the place where to post your application; if you have never created a thread there, you are allowed to create one. This thread will be valid for all your Characters.
If you're buying a Crafted Arm or an upgrade to a Crafted Arm at the Divinity Statue, you must copy, paste and fill in this template:

Here's a rundown of the prices to buy and upgrade a Crafted Arm, ordered by number of Upgrade Points. Crafted Arms can be bought with Red Orbs as well as Blue Orbs .
When upgrading a Crafted Arm, you only pay the difference of the costs and gain the difference of the cashback. If you upgrade a Crafted Arm, it's possible to reassign Upgrade Points that have been already spent, with some limitations.
In fact, it's possible to transform a Trait-like Upgrade into an Aspect-like Upgrade by spending only 1 Upgrade Point. This new "leveled up" Upgrade will have to be reasonably based on the Trait-like and constitute effectively an improvement of it.
For example, if a "sword" type Crafted Arm has a "very cold blade" Trait, you may spend just 1 point to improve it into a "freezing" Aspect-like Upgrade. The new "freezing" Aspect-like quality of the weapon will allow you to manifest an even colder blade, maybe even going as far as creating ice out of thin air; you can then produce Techniques based on the freezing aspect of the weapon.

[attr="class","rules_focus"]Buried Light is set in a fantasy version of the 21st century, and almost all technology commonly available in this century is, within reason, available to Characters. This includes cell phones and computers with Internet connection, smart wearables, glasses, cigarettes and lighters, Swiss knives, cars, electrical torches, and so on.
All these pieces of technology can be assumed part of a Character's inventory as the plot demands them, but do not need to be listed in their App under Crafted Arms. They are, however, considered Crafted Arms in all respects.
